Go to www.pvcc.edu and click on "Apply Now" to complete the Virginia Community College System's online application. After completing your application, you will receive a student ID number and username on your confirmation page. Print this page or write down this information for your records. 2 Take Placement Tests. 3 Register in advance for a SOAR session. Students planning to attend SOAR must take math and English placement tests. These are administered in the PVCC Testing Center (Main Building, Room M607). No appointment is required. See the PVCC Testing Center hours at www.pvcc.edu/hours. Practice test information is available at www.pvcc.edu/practice. Instead of taking the math placement test, submit math SAT scores of 520 or higher - must be within the past two years. Instead of taking the English placement test, submit SAT scores of 500 or higher in BOTH Critical Reading and Writing - must be within the past two years.
